My  Birthplace

       I want to tell you about my native town.

    I was born in Kaluga. It is the capital of Kaluga region. But I consider that my motherland is a small town. It is Strunino.I live and study at school and make friends here.

     Strunino is a part of Vladimir region. Not far from my native town there is Alexandrov. It was the capital of Russia many years ago. In those times Ivan the Terrible ruled Russia.

     In Strunino there was a big and prosperous manufacture. Its name was ‘October,5^th’.

     There is a river in  my town. People of Strunino say that a church was burnt not far from the river .Its burning cross fell down from the top of the church into the river. It floated along the river burning for a long time. That is why people called the river ‘Burning Cross’.

      In the town there are many old houses and buildings with carved shutters. In the suburbs of the town there is a nature reserve. Its name is ‘Urotchistche’ or ‘Track’ in English.

     I like my small motherland.
