"I am a part of Kovrov; my birthplace is a part of
me.”
I am
who I am. My own world is unique and it consists of some main things that are
inalienable part of my life. First of all, it is my family, which always loves
me and shares with me my emotions, my victories and defeats, my experiences and
my joys. Of course, the main part of my life is my friends. They share my
interests, help me, love me. With them I like to spend time, walk in the park,
play the fool, communicate by the Internet, go to the cinema and. Another
inalienable part of my life is my hobbies. They are: music, art, painting, dancing,
reading books and watching films. Also I can’t imagine my life without my
school and my schoolmates to whom I have been familiar since my 7 years. I can
tell you about a lot of important things in my life, but one thing is the most
important. It is my birthplace.
My birthplace is a small town in the central part
of European Russia; it is on the coast of the Klazma river. Kovrov is a great
part of my life, because it is the place where I was born, where I went to
school for the first time, where I met most of my friends, where I learnt a lot
of important things about the world. Kovrov is the place where I am who I am,
and I don’t know any place, which would be dearer, better, more beautiful and favourite
for me.
There are more than a million towns on the
planet. Large metropolitan areas, quiet country towns, cities of workers, science
cities, towns of fun and entertainment, cities with historical complex of
attractions – all towns are not similar to other. Big and small, quiet and
noisy, high and low, bright and scenic, old and young, famous and unknown – all
cities are unique and different. But my town is particular. My Kovrov is not
just a town; it is like a man: it has a soul, character, face, emotions. Like a
man, it can be different. I love «happy» Kovrov, when all citizens are in the
streets and walk in the parks. Sometimes it can be «sad», «quiet», «noisy». I
like the «character» of Kovrov, but I have not always known my town so as I do
it now.
When I was a
little girl I used to walk along the streets with my parents and ask my mum
about new unfamiliar places or buildings. Our walking was a way to know
something new about my town and understand the «character of Kovrov». Now I
like to spend my free time walking along the streets with my friends. Very
often when I return back home from the Art school, I prefer to go on foot. Walking
around the city is a good way to cheer up. When I feel myself bad; I can escape
from my home, go to the park and my mood always rises. I like walking around
unfamiliar streets on hot summer days; it is interesting to investigate new places
and different roads. Most people do not like rainy weather, but when the weather
in Kovrov is rainy I stop doing all my things and run out onto the street.
Rainy Kovrov is beautiful.
But my town is
not only beautiful buildings, green parks and nice squares. Kovrov is rich in people
who live in the city and make it better. I am pleased to say that Kovrov is
full of talented and skilled people: doctors, teachers, painters, workers and we
all are a union. We want to make out town better and not so long ago our city
was appreciated by the leadership of our country. November.4th 2011 the President
of Russia signs the decree on awarding Kovrov with the title «The City of
Military Glory». This title means recognition of the heroism of Kovrov people’s,
who gave their lives for victory in the war, not only on the battlefields but
also in the rear. This title is truly deserved by our city because every third
automatic gun for the war was made in our town. Kovrov is worthy of this award. I advise everyone to visit Kovrov, to stay here
for some time to feel the «soul of Kovrov».
I am proud
of my birthplace and I really can’t imagine my own world without it. Kovrov is
inalienable part of my life. Maybe in a few years I will change the place of
residence and I move to another city to study, but one thing in my life will be
forever: I am a part of Kovrov, my
birthplace is a part of me.
