                                               I am Russian

I am Russian. Russia is my birthplace. Russia is the largest country in the world. Its total area is about 17 million square kilometres.
It is washed by 12 seas and three oceans. There are about two million rivers in Russia. The biggest river of Europe is the Volga. Russia is rich in lakes. The deepest lake of the world the Baikal is also situated in our country. The water in the lake is so clear  that if you look down you can count the stones on the bottom.
On the territory of the country there are various types of climate from the arctic in the north to the tropical in the south.
Russia is rich in different mineral resources: oil, gas, coal, iron and some others.
The capital of Russia is Moscow. It is the largest political, scientific, cultural and industrial centre.
It is one of the largest Russian cities. I was born in the town of Vladimir which is situated 190 kilometres of Moscow on the high left bank of the river Klyazma. My native town is very old. It was founded in 1108 by Prince Vladimir Monomakh. At that time the town was the fortress to defend the lands .The present-day Vladimir is the administrative centre of the Vladimir region. Its area is about 60 square kilometres and the population is about 380000 people.
I like my town very much. It is very nice and clean. There are many green parks and gardens, wide streets and squares, historical monuments and buildings of modern design. There are some cinemas, cultural clubs, two stadiums, a concert hall. The Vladimir Regional theatre is one of the oldest in the country. Some museums and exhibitions of the town are connected with the history and art of Vladimir. My town has developed into a popular tourist centre and has been included into the Golden Ring tourist route.
I like to walk through my town admiring its beautiful places.
