I love my Birthplace!

My name is Nikita. I am in the 5th grade. I was born in Vladimir, a small city on the bank of the river Klyazma. Vladimir is a beautiful old Russian city with a long history. Vladimir was founded in 1108 by Vladimir Monomach. In the 12th century Vladimir was the capital of Rus. Vladimir has a lot of sights. The most popular sight is a Golden Gate, a rave monument of old Russian architecture. The Golden Gate, built in the 12th century, were once part of the Vladimir defences. Now they are situated in the city’s centre. On the high hill over the Klyazma we can see the Cathedral of Dormition and the cathedral of St. Demetrius.

Tourists from all corners of the world admire our sights.There is only one thing that worries me. Our river Klyazma is very polluted by waste and litter. If we don’t help to clean it, Russia will lose one of the greatest rivers. But, still, I am proud of my city and love it. When I leave Vladimir, I miss it. All my relatives and my friends love Vladimir too for its parks and museums, for its sights and nature, for me are the citizens of Vladimir.
