Wonderful
history of my town
It is
usually very difficult to answer the question why you like something. But I’ll
try to explain you my feelings.
I love
my town because it has an interesting history. There is a wonderful museum- preserve Alexandrovskaya Sloboda with exciting scenery, beautiful buildings and
outstanding ancient Kremlin in my town.
The 500th
anniversary of the Kremlin will be celebrated in 2013. By the year of 1513
after the order of Vasilij III, who was a grand duke of Moscow, the best Russian
and Italian masters had erected the most beautiful palace-temple ensemble on
the high bank of the Seraya River. I like to climb the Church Bell Tower of the Crucifixion. You can see the whole town from its top,
even my house, which is very far from this place. During the reign of Ivan the
Terrible holop Nikita, whose dream was to fly to heaven, jumped from the Bell Tower.
I think he was a hero, but the cruel tsar killed him!
There are some
other terrific buildings here: the Pokrov Church, the Trinity Church. They say
Ivan the Terrible hid his famous library here, in Sloboda. Every child in our
town dreams to find it.
Have you already
understood that I live in the town of Alexandrov? But I love my town not only
because of its great history but also because of its beautiful nature. There is
a very deep and wonderful lake in Alexandrov. A picturesque pine forest is
situated on the shores of the lake. It is full of different birds, insects,
berries and mushrooms. Even owls live there! Every summer I go there to swim,
sunbathe and meet my friends. I like to watch the boys fishing in the lake.
I hope I will
never leave my favourite town. I want to do my best to make it prosperous. I
wish people who live here and also our guests would enjoy it greatly.
