Turning Torso is the tallest skyscraper in Sweden.
The project was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
It was opened on 27 August 2005.
The height is 190 metres.
There are 54 storeys there.
The top segment is twisted 90 degrees
clockwise.
At the two bottom segments are offices. The construction of this building was featured on Discovery Channel’s TV programme.

Disneyland Paris

The Palacio Real (Royal Palace) of Madrid

The Palacio Real (Royal Palace) of Madrid is the official residence of the King of Spain althouh it is only used for state ceremonies. The Royal Palace was built between 1738 to 1755 and King Carlos Ill took up residence in the palace in 1764. The construction of the palace started in the 9th century. In that period they constructed a building which was also a sort of fortress. But in 1734, everything caught fire and the palace was lost. Later, King Felipe V, wanted to build a new building which occupied the old one’s space. But this time he made it to be built in stone and brick so that no fire could destroy it.



Hofburg Imperial Palace

Located in Vienna, the Hofburg Imperial Palace serves as the official residence of the President of Austria. It was the Habsburg’s principal winter residence, while Schonbrunn Palace (also located in Vienna) was their preferred summer residence. From 1438 to 1583 and from 1612 to 1806, it was the seat of the kings and emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, thereafter the seat of the Emperor of Austria until 1918.

Founded in 1764 by Catherine the Great, the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia is a massive museum of art and culture showing the highlights of a collection of over 3 million items spanning the globe. The collections occupy a large complex of six historic buildings including the Winter Palace, a former residence of Russian emperors.
