I was born in Vladimir. I love this town, because it is my home.

I can speak about my town so long, but I am going to tell you some interesting moments and I will tell you about amazing places in Vladimir.

I will start with the fact that my town is about 1022 years. Vladimir is a historical and old town of Russia. The prince Vladimir the Red Sun founded it in the 10th century. But there are two versions of the time when Vladimir was founded.

 There had been many great princes, who made a lot of remarkable things for my town. For example, Andrew Bogolyubskii made Vladimir the capital of the principality in 1157.

A lot of raids were performed to my town. But Vladimir survived and overcame all the difficulties.

The great masters created a lot of amazing and wonderful monuments. For example, The Golden Gates, The Assumption and Demetrius Cathedrals and others. These three churches are included in the List of World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Unfortunately, the historic town centre was almost rebuilt. In addition, the monuments of Vladimir are painted on some coins.

There is a coat of arms of Vladimir. And two symbols are reflected on the coat of arms. It is a lion - image of the regal power and a cross - a symbol of Christianity. The main event for people was in 990. It is a baptizing of Vladimir city residents.

Today my town is a dynamic regional centre. And it keeps all unique things from the old times: history, monuments, landscape and others.

Vladimir is the developed city. It comes up with the times blooming in front of. And I can prove my words. Well, in my town the culture and art are developed. There are many theatres, cinemas, houses of culture. For example, The Drama Theater named after Lunacharsky, The Puppet Theater, a philharmonic and others. There are a lot of museums: The Golden Gates, the museum «Old Vladimir»… Besides Vladimir is the sporty town. There is a stadium «Torpedo», where people can play football. And footballers come to us from different towns or regions. Also, hockey club «Vladimir», a volleyball club, table tennis and other sports are represented in my town. Vladimir is very talented and creative place.

Vladimir is rich in parks. In my opinion, The Patriarch's gardens are the most beautiful place of all in the town. How many flowers, trees and just amazing places out there?! I love to go there, sit in the gazebo and think about something. Only good and bright thoughts come to mind. By the way, this place is very popular because a lot of wedding photography is held in The Patriarch's gardens.

My town is the home of many famous people. Different composers, champions, heroes and scientists were born here. And I am proud of it.

Vladimir is included in The Golden Ring of Russia. I think, that is great, because The Golden Ring of Russia involves the ancient Russian towns. Eight main cities are included in The Golden Ring.

Russia is the coldest country in the world. In Vladimir the winter lasts for five months, from November till the end of March. In summer the weather is very nice, but usually «it rains cats and dogs». In winter my town looks like a winter snow-white palace.

A lot of festivals are held in my town. And all people gather in the center of my town. It is very cheerfully. Different concerts, dances, parades and promenades cheer people. In my opinion, these days, when there are festivals, go with a band.

I have been in many cities of Russia and abroad. Yes, I like those places. But there are nowhere there such streets, parks and historic places just like in my town.

Well, I am so happy, because my town is Vladimir. It is a small, comfortable and nice place. It is my home and I love it!
