I live in Kovrov. It is a small town. Kovrov  has about 150 thousand inhabitants. My town

is on the Klyazma.  The Klyazma is a beautiful river. It falls into the Volga. Ships don’t go

along the Klyazma. There are forests, fields, villages and lakes near our town. The Lake Perehanovo

is a favourite place of our inhabitants in the countryside .

Kovrov is a green town. There are many trees and flowers in the streets. My town has

many interesting and wonderful places. There are parks, squares, museums, monuments and

others. Degtyarev’spark is a very popular place of rest, which many people like. It is clean and

comfortable. There are many trees, paths and benches.

          There are a lot of sports institutions where inhabitants can go in for sports after work ,

colleges and schools. The most famous institution of sport is «Metalist»‘s stadium.

Club «Kovrovets»  play football in summer. There is a skating rink on the stadium in winter.

People like to skate there. ChyornyDol is a popular area for rest in winter. All inhabitants like

ski and sledge there. People often celebrate Maslennitsa there. This is a very merry holiday.

         There are a lot of factories and enterprises where the citizens of our town work. Kovrov is

a big industrial center.  There is a great variety of industries: metal, textile, food and wood

industries. The very interesting firm is « Askona». «Askona» produces goods for sleep. That firm 

takes part in different international exhibition and win prizes for its goods. Degtyarev’s plant is

one of the biggest plants in our town. It is famous all over our country and abroad.

       The public transport is trolleybuses and buses. There are a lot of transports roades.

       Our town has a rail way station and a bus station. These stations are in same building. This

is very comfortable for passengers. It is a modern beautiful building. It was built in 2003.

         The main street of Kovrov is Lenin  avenue. There are many monuments. The main

monument is « Eternal fire». This is a monument of perished soldiers in Great Patriotic War.

Kovrov is a town of warrior fame.

Kovrov is a cultural centre. There are a lot of houses of culture in my town.

 «Sovremennik» is very famous. A lot of concerts and performances are held here. Our people

like to spend their free time there. You can also see several ancient beautiful churches in Kovrov.

 Some of them have already been rebuilt and others are being rebuilt.

Kovrov has a lot of children’s clubs. These clubs have won great popularity. The

experienced teachers teach to draw, to model, to sing, to dance and others. I go to «Rodnichok»

to dance. I like to dance very much. I often take part in different dance competitions.   

Kovrov has a swimming-pool. The building of the swimming-pool is situated in the

centre of the town. A lot of our citizens go there to learn to swim and to be healthy.

           My town is beautiful and wonderful. I love my Kovrov   I am glad that I live in my town.

I like my native town, because I have many relatives and faithful friends. More overI prefer to

live in a small and quiet place. I am proud of Kovrov, because my town has the glorious past and

theperspectivefuture.
